A first ever senior goal by youngster Jamie Green was enough for Rotherham United to end the season with a fourth successive victory following the week's news that the club has been saved.
It was an unchanged line up again and in the third minute the Millers were penalised for a dubious foul on the edge of the Barnet area before the keeper appeared to handle the ball outside the 18 yards line.
But the game was only nine minutes old when United took the lead. A Peter Holmes cross saw a dale Tonge shot blocked but the ball wasn't cleared and Ryan Taylor picked out Green who rifled home a wells truck left foot shot to his absolute delight.
Then Green was in the action again winning the ball well to find Taylor who struck a 25 yarder just over the bar before Holmes crossed well for the ball to be cut out. Then Green and Taylor linked well again to set up a good chance for Mark Hudson but he put his shot over the bar.
The visitors came into the game on 19 minutes when Adomah crossed well for Marc Joseph to cut out the ball and then Wright had a shot saved by Andy Warrington.
The Millers were guilty of giving possession away too easily and the visitors almost took advantage on a quick break but Graham Coughlan got in a vital header.
On 33 minutes the home team should have added a second goal when Green and Taylor again combined to set up a chance for Hudson but he fired over the bar.
Taylor was then not far off the target with a shot from 25 yards before Barnet replied with Parker firing just over from 25 yards and Adomah had a shot well saved by Warrington after he had parried a first shot.
The second half started with the visitors pushing forward in search of an equaliser and they forced four early corners with Joseph making a brilliant goal line clearance from one of them.
Barnet were enjoying most of the possession but the Millers almost added a second goal after Jamie Yates had come on to replace Taylor. He had only been on for a minute when Derek Holmes and Hudson combined to set up the opening only for the youngsters shot to hit the post.
At the other end Puncheon hit a 20 yarder just wide and Barnet made three changes on 79 minutes as they tried to get back on level terms.
St Aime fired over the bar and Warrington made close range save while Hudson saw his shot kept out at the other end of the game and four minutes of added time saw the Millers hold out for victory.
