The winning run continued with Rotherham United's most fluent performance of the season against a team who had been unbeaten in their previous eight games.

It was an unchanged team for the third successive game but Bury stormed on to the attack from the kick off to win a first minute corner that was dealt with.

The Millers replied with Pablo Mills hitting a 25 yarder that was saved and then good work from Ryan Taylor earned a corner. Steve Brogan saw a deep cross cut out and Mills won possession to fire the ball back in but his cross was too deep.

On 11 minutes Danny Harrison linked with Mills who's 25 yard shot was saved and Chris O'Grady fired wide as the pressure on the Bury goal continued.

Mark Hudson hit a 26 yards free kick over the bar and the Millers continued to press with Taylor finding Hudson whose shot was deflected for a corner. From that in the 22nd minute delivered by brogan, Marc Newsham rose superbly to head the ball home.

Two minutes later it was almost two when a cracking 22 yards shot from Taylor was well saved and then O'Grady drove yet another shot just too high.

A Hudson free kick was punched out and still United pushed forward with a long kick from Andy Warrington finding Taylor whose shot was turned out for another corner from which Ian Sharps headed narrowly wide.

O'Grady and Taylor both had more shots kept out and two home corners were cleared before the visitors were gifted an equaliser when the referee - much to everyone's amazement - awarded Bury a penalty that was converted by Adams.

The second half started with Bury on the attack with Warrington catching a corner but on 55 minutes the Millers restored their lead.

A long Bury throw in near the corner flag was cleared to Taylor who went on a long run before slipping the ball to O'Grady out wide on the left. He sent over the ball intending as a cross but it took a slight deflection to curl into the bottom far corner of the net.

That led to yet more Rotherham pressure and Brogan fired just wide before Taylor was almost on the target with a header that was only just wide as well. Newsham then saw a header saved before he turned superbly to smack a shot just over the bar and another effort from Taylor almost brought another goal. Bury at last got on to the attack after 69 minutes with Mangan shooting wide before Warrington easily saved a header from Futcher following a free kick.

A Bury corner saw Warrington do well to punch clear and he then saved a Bishop header while at the other end Sharps headed just wide from a corner.

The last few minutes saw Bury desperately trying to push forward in search of an equaliser but the Millers were in no mood to relinquish their lead.
