StockportCounty 2
Rotherham United 2
The Millers took a well deserved point from their game at EdgeleyPark where they showed they will be no easy opponents for any team.
There was just one change with Danny Harrison missing as his wife had gone into labour so Steve Brogan returned to the line up.
United were the first on to the attack with a first minute free kick that saw Derek Holmes have a header saved while County replied immediately with a quick break that saw Dickinson fire just over the bar.
Chris O'Grady had a header tipped over the bar from a Brogan free kick but then Stockport attacked really well and at speed.
McNeil was wide from another Dickinson break who then brought a fine save from Andy Warrington. But County took the lead on 13 minutes when a cross from Poole was headed home by Elding.
O'Grady had a 20 yards shot saved and Brogan put a long range effort wide as the Millers gradually gained the upper hand.
A superb ball from Dale Tonge found Derek Holmes who headed just over the bar and then Andy Todd almost got on the end of a Brogan cross.
Following a free kick by Marc Joseph Todd had a header saved and the half came to an end with Ian Sharps heading just wide from a corner.
The second half was four minutes old when the Millers thought they had equalisedwhen Derek Holmes brought a fine save from the keeper to win a corner that saw Sharps head home but the linesman flagged for an offence to the goal was surprisingly ruled out.
However, on 56 minutes the game was all square again when Brogan flighted in a perfect free kick from the left and this time Sharps' header counted.
Joseph had a shot saved after the second of two corners in quick succession and Peter Holmes had a shot saved before the home team regained the lead on 67 minutes with Griffin heading home at the far post from a corner.
But the Millers again showed their determination and battling qualities as they levelled matters for the second time on 71 minutes. It came from another free kick and McNeil inadvertently turned the ball into his own net.
It was no more than the Millers deserved and they attacked again with O'Grady heading just wide from a fine Peter Holmes cross.
But United had a let off on 78 minutes when a long ball forward saw McNeil head the ball on to the post and it was cleared.
In the last minute the Millers went close to grabbing a winner when Brogan crossed, Todd played the ball back in and Marcus Bean fired narrowly wide.
