There was an excellent attendance for the United Rotherham game and it was an unchanged line up that entertained the visitors.
The Millers almost opened the game in great style when after just 75 seconds Marc Joseph crossed for Derek Holmes to have a header saved and then Pablo Mills was not far off the target with an effort from 25 yards.
Holmes then linked with Ryan Taylor who went on a great run before firing just wide and another long range effort from Mills wasn't too far wide.
The blistering start was rewarded on 14 minutes when Steve Brogan blasted home a superbly taken free kick from almost 25 yards on the right.
But that prompted the visitors into some attacking and Ian Sharps had to clear a Martin free kick before Wanderers had a good chance to grab a 22nd minute equaliser.
Martin delivered a low cross but from just a few yards out McGleish fired wide. He then had a 25 yarder well saved but back came United again with a good move involving Mark Hudson and Ryan Taylor that ended with Chris O'Grady having his shot saved.
From another Brogan free kick Mills had a shot blocked while at the other end Sutton fired over the bar from close range following a good ball from Johnson. Back came the Millers again for O'Grady to have a shot saved and on 41 minutes they almost went two up.
A corner found Holmes whose header hit the bar and as the ball dropped down almost on the line Graham Coughlan just failed to force it home.
Then the impressive Brogan had a shot saved while in the first minute of the second half McGleish hit a volley over the bar.
On 50 minutes a Mills shot was turned round the post for a corner but five minutes later it was all square when McGleish scored a fluke goal, he intended a cross from just inside the touchline but the ball flew over everyone into the far corner of the net.
That lifted Wanderers and they pushed forward well to force three corners in quick succession before the Millers broke away but Joseph hit his shot well wide after being set up by Taylor.
From a home corner Ian Sharps had a shot saved on the line while Andy Warrington kept out a shot from Sutton as the game swung from end to end with both teams looking for a winner.
In the last few minutes corners to either side brought no reward so the honours were shared.
