After looking down and out of the FA Cup at the first round at half time, Rotherham United staged a fine second half revival to take their non-league opposition to a replay.
It was yet again an unchanged line up but the home team were first on to the attack with a second minute free kick that was cleared by Graham Coughlan.
Then a Chris O'Grady cross was too deep before he linked well with Danny Harrison who fired wide.
In the eighth minute a home corner saw Beesley's shot deflected for another flag kick while United replied with Pablo Mills seeing his 30 yarder saved by the home keeper.
Rovers replied with Jones having a 25 yarder deflected for a corner, Clist had a shot blocked and a corner brought no reward.
A Fleetwood break saw his cross headed out for a corner by Dale Tonge and after a Rotherham corner had been dealt with it was Forest who opened the scoring in the 32nd minute. A corner was delivered to the near post where Fleetwood was on hand to score from just a yard out and two minutes later he almost added a second.
A cross from the left was headed back into the middle by Brogan for Fleetwood to head goalwards only for the ball to hit the bar and be scrambled clear.
On 42 minutes it was almost all square when Ryan Taylor's header from a corner looked a goal all the way only for the ball to be cleared off the line by Pitman for another corner.
That was to prove costly as Rovers added a second goal on the stroke of half time when Beesley's pass split the defence wide open and Fleetwood rounded Andy Warrington to knock the ball home with ease.
At the start of the second half Brogan moved into midfield with Paul Hurst coming on to replace Mills and the Millers were soon on to the attack. Brogan had a shot blocked and then Marc Newsham did likewise following a Hudson free kick.
In the 56th minute the arrears were reduced when Bropgan swapped passes with the lively Taylor before he was upended in the penalty area and he got up to score from the spot.
Immediately after Taylor had a 30 yarder saved while at the other end the Millers had an escape when Fleetwood's shot hit the post and was cleared. A Millers corner was cleared and then Brogan just overran a pass from Newsham as the pressure on the home goal mounted.
Ian Sharps headed just wide from a free kick before the home team forced two corners in quick succession. But from the second the Millers broke away quickly with Hurst delivering a fine pass to O'Grady who levelled matters with a shot from just outside the penalty area.
He then fired over the bar with another effort while the home team pushed hard for a winner in the last few minutes and they went close when Coughlan had to head clear over his own bar.
