Happy Manager
After watching his team record a 2-1 home win against Dagenham and Redbridge, Rotherham United manager Mark Robins was quite pleased.
He stated: "There were a few heart palpitations in the second half but it was a game that typified the status of both sides. We were different class in the first half when we passed the ball about excellently, the movement was good and all that was lacking was a goal.
"We controlled the first half totally and limited them to half chances although we gave away too many free kicks as they are a good set piece side and we conceded from one again.
"That was the only blight on a decent performance but we knew they would come at us in the second half so you have to be able to withstand that. We dealt with everything they threw at us as they are fighting for their lives in the division and they put us under some pressure in the second half.
"Having said that we had three one on one chances with plenty of the ball in their half and on another day we would have won by a bigger margin. I left Tom Cahill on a bit longer because he needs to get that fitness, I though he was excellent as he got hold of the ball well and used it well. That's something for him and Ryan Taylor to build on.
"They both allowed the other players to get out and we have had two goals from the midfield players. The longer a game goes on after dominating without a goal gets difficult and we knew they would try and keep it tight so the early goal was important.
"It was only in the second half when they were coming down the hill with the wind behind them that they managed to put Jamie Green under some pressure but he played very well.
"Everybody was excellent especially in the first half while we had some really good one on one chances that didn't go in while I thought the referee was poor, he gave some bad decisions against us.
"It was a good strike from Danny Harrison but generally in the first half we controlled it well, we moved and passed well with some decent decision making while we were under no pressure at the back.
"It was different in the second half when there were all the ingredients for a heart stopping time. Mark Hudson is doing great things for us at the moment and he has weighed in with a good number of goals.
"We need to keep a squad together and the sooner things at the club get resolved the better, as we have to try and build on what we have for next season. Now we look for another two wins in the last games."
