Mark Hudson successfully took responsibility of penalty duty when he converted his spot kick on Saturday in the Millers 2-1 home win over Dagenham and Redbridge.

The midfielder converted from 12 yards after Tom Cahill was upended by Scott Griffiths to score his ninth goal of the season. Hudson stepped up to the mark in the absence of regular penalty taker Stephen Brogan and showed no nerves in calmly sliding the ball past the Daggers 'keeper:

"I think it might be the first penalty I have taken in my career, apart from penalties in shootouts, admitted Hudson.

"I told the lads in training during the week that I wanted the penalties, and I put it away well."

After problems for the club both on and off the field of late, Hudson confirmed that recent good results had made the training ground a much better place to be:

"Training has been going well recently and there has been sharpness to it and we are all enjoying it, he said.

" I think that is being shown on the pitch and people have come in like Tom Cahill and done well, so that has been a good bonus."

The Millers make their final away trip of the season on Saturday when they make the journey to relegation threatened Mansfield. Hudson is expecting a tough game but knows the importance of taking momentum into the next campaign:

"Mansfield will be fighting for their lives and they need to win but we are starting a good run and we want to finish the season strongly, said Hudson.

"We will be looking to finish the season with four wins from four and hopefully it will show the fans that it is worth coming to see us next season. We have been disappointing in the last few months and we have dropped off the pace but we can still get back to those standards, and I think we have shown that over the last couple of games."
