Millers sign striker Reid
Millers manager Mark Robins was feeling 'delighted' after confirming the signing of striker Rueben Reid.
The former Plymouth forward again impressed in tonight's 2-1 friendly victory over Scunthorpe United, and he signed a contract with the Millers straight after the game. Boss Robins was in a buoyant mood after capturing the young strikers signature:
"He has just put pen to paper and I am delighted to get him because he has a lot of potential, said Robins.
"He has got pace, and a good first touch and he is a strong boy who can finish and with those attributes we've got a chance."
Reid came off the substitutes bench to equalise a first half Scunthorpe goal with a superb effort from the edge of the penalty area, with Ryan Taylor adding the winner in the closing stages.
The 19-year-old started his career as a trainee at Plymouth, playing 12 games in a three-year spell at Home Park. Whilst at Plymouth he had loan spells at Kidderminster, Rochdale, Torquay and Wycombe. He joined Brentford on a free in February 2008 but only started one game before leaving the Bees in June the same year.
