Fielding a mainly inexperienced side Rotherham United worked hard but were eventually well beaten 3-0 by Leeds United at Millmoor.
A second minute Ian Ross free kick saw Tom Hirst's cross cut out and when Leeds attacked a free kick was touched away y keeper Richard O'Donnell.
The visitors had a good chance to take a 14th minute lead when a free kick from just outside the area gave them a good chance but it was wasted with a close range shot from Weston that went over the bar.
The Millers replied with another Ross free kick that Jamie Yates almost got on the end of but Leeds forced two corners in quick succession and Elding fired just over the bar from 20 yards.
Two more Leeds corners were dealt with but the pressure paid off on 43 minutes when Marc Joseph fouled Elding inside the penalty area and the striker stepped up to score from the spot. Three minutes into the second half Sam Duncum had a shot blocked but back came Leeds again with Elding shooting wide and Carole had a shot saved.
A Leeds free kick just outside the penalty area was headed away and when the Millers broke forward Marc Newsham was blocked by the keeper and then Jamie Greene fired wide after Ross had played the ball to the far post.
But Leeds took control and they added a second goal on 70 minutes when Elding scored from a corner and five minutes later they added a third goal with Elliott heading home from a cross from the left.
